We've been having these daily sketch topics on the "doodles and shit" blog, and yesterday's was tank girl. I went out last night and couldn't finish her up, but I finally did today, and I'm kinda happy with how it turned out.

I started this ink drawing yesterday, and had colors and font in mind, but nothing to promote with it. Today I went ahead and decided I'd make a fictional tour for some bands I like, and this is what I got.

demo day

I was asked to do a demo during one of the figure classes I TA for. I did a quick sample this morning before the class, and then I knocked out the drawing in 12 minutes for the demo later today. I'm kinda happy with it since I haven't drawn in white on dark paper in a long time. The cool part is I get to do an art trade with Brandes, so he gets my demo drawing and I get one of his sweet demos in return.

Since pre-college has started I've been working on a lot of random shit, and it's mostly what the kids have been doing in the illustration class that I TA for. This week they started watercolor so I did a portrait of Anthony Hopkins.

I was hoping I had the afternoon off and totally forgot I had to be at my studio from 12-5pm. This kept me busy for about an hour or so at least.

I've always hated working in sketchbooks, and I thought they were stupid. Then I got a moleskin, and they rule..... but now I feel like a total no0b. I got it yesterday and I'm gonna keep working in it as much as I can.... hopefully.

I think I did this Saturday or Friday... I can't remember. But on a cooler note, I bought some cool shit today, so I'm hoping to get a new illustration done sometime this week.

I finally got to scan in the other three pieces that I've worked on, so here they are..... unfortunately some of the mediums make certain spots hazy or shiny and it looks weird. In person it looks a little different and clearer.

after a brief hiatus....

I've done a couple pieces in that past 2-3 weeks that I've been meaning to scan, but all I have at home is a shitty scanner/fax/copy machine thing. This is 1 of 4 pieces that I've worked on recently, and once I'm back at Ringling tomorrow I'll be able to scan the rest.
Lately I've been doing mixed media works on paper, and I rather enjoy the process. I might actually make a few prints of the latest work, if you're interested, holla.
